Simple Battery

My brother caught his wife cheating. Well when he confront them of course the situation escalated into a fight with her. Her cheating partner call 911. My brother was put in Jail and charge with SIMPLE BATTERY. Up to this point my brother has never been in Jail or any trouble. What are his options? He wanted to fight for the kids before this but will this completely destory his chances of getting them in the Divorce.

His options are to go plead guilty and go to jail, or fight it with counsel. If this is in SoCAL, feel free to have him contact me if he is serious about doing so. The better the outcome in the criminal case, the better the outcome in the custody fight.
