Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My sister didnt finish drug court- and left out of state, almost 10 yrs ago. shes too far away to go back, as she cant fly or drive. Is there a lawyer or advice anyone can give?? Our father just died, and our mother has about 3 mos to live, I want her to be able to spend time with her before she dies.

If she has a felony arrest warrant outstanding on her, which I assume she does, then the only way she can 'deal' properly with this is to appear personally in court, with or without an attorney, turn herself in, and then try to negotiate a new plea bargain to resolve the warrant, probation violation, flight charges, etc. An attorney can not appear for her on a felony without her being personally present in court. IF it is only a misdemeanor warrant, then the attorney here could appear in court without her. There is no way of assuring that she won't be ordered back to jail or prison for disregard and violation of the court's orders. If she is serious about hiring counsel to help her in this, and if it is in SoCal courts, then feel free to have her call to discuss and arrange the court appearance.
