The prosecuting authority has the obligation to notify your son of the charges against him and of the initial court date. You didn't mention what he was arrested for, depending on the charges he may be receiving a citation in the mail. You may want to check the Superior Court of Orange County's web site too, if he was arrsted in OC.

He is supposed to be brought to court within 48 hours of his arrest for his arraignment, but sometimes this is delayed by a few days. In the meantime, you should be helping him retain a lawyer so the lawyer can be there with him at the first court appearance, before somebody talks him into an ill-advised early guilty plea.

He bails out or sits and waits to be taken to court for arraignment within 2 court days, where he can request OR release or bail reduction. If serious about getting legal counsel for him, feel free to contact me, I've been doing these cases for over 30 years.
