Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Hi, my son is being charged with pc 273 A(A) he barley tapped his stepson with a toy star wars light sword there was no visible injuries, marks, or pain caused. My son and his wife were arguing the child started hitting my son his step dad on the legs with it, so my son took it from him and tapped him as I had mentioned and put him in his room and that was the extent of that. The police were call from neighbors. My son was arrested after they took the Childs statement. Let me add the child and my son have. a loving relationship.

The police and prosecutor's office believe a different version of the facts you describe, including the wife's story. They wouldn't arrest and charge him unless they thought he committed a crime and that they could prosecute him successfully. That is what they are doing. Hire him a good experienced attorney asap, and have your son follow his advice,including not talking to anyone about the case. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so.
