Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

my son did his crime in westminster ca and when he paroles in about 10 months we want him to come to riverside, ca where his mother lives. no family in westminster and he was in a gang in westminter so that would be the worse place for him to parole too

everyone is telling us they are going to send him to westminter

should we get a lawyer?

please advice
