Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

out of state pending felony

I have a friend, she's the hardest working (no criminal record) person I've known for years. Her ex was always the troublemaker. Single mother of two now due to her alcoholic ex. Used to live out of state and now in Cali. What can she do to clear a pending felony that was since 2005 that she didn't know of that her ex caused? Can it affect her seeking employment during background check?

Yes, it can affect her. Tell her to hire an attorney in the area where the felony is filed.

"Clear it?" By appearing in court and properly handling it. Not only WILL it 'affect her' by denying employment, it will result in her arrest any time she comes in contact with police anywhere, like in a traffic stop. She needs to hire counsel to defend her. Feel free to contact me if serious, and if it is in SoCal courts.
