Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
out of state warrant
I was wrongfully convicted of 2nd degree burgalary charges in Calif. I got felony probation. I went up to washington to help my brother with surgery he just had. NowbI am told that I will be extradited back to calif and my brother could face charges. This whole case is based on lies and I feel that if I had had an attorney that gave a damn not a public defender that he would have gotten me off this charge. Now I don't have the money to get back their immediatly and I'm afraid that they will come and get me and who knows what will happen to me??? Please help me I am 48, female and do not have a really bad criminal record...

Re: out of state warrant
Your previous case is over, the facts no longer matter. Your brother is not at real risk, despite what you've been told. You now have a probation /parole violation charge that might be partially defended and explained with the facts you allege. You will have to turn yourself in to the court here before they have you arrested and extradited, to have any sympathy from the court that could keep you out of jail. If you can't afford private counsel, then you have to seek a PD, and work with them and convince them you are deserving of a break.
