Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Statitory Rape
What is the statute of Limitations for statitory rape in California? I am now 27, but was 15/16 at the time and he was 21/22. It resulted in a son, who is now almost 11 yrs. old. I want to know if I can prosecute, having just now come in contact with the man again.

You should consult a family law attorney regarding child support and the possibility of his requesting visitation.

Re: Statitory Rape
It may be too late to prosecute criminally, contact your local police. However, you have 8 years after reaching 18 to bring a civil lawsuit for damages; plus you could bring action for child support. The question will be whether he has any income or assets worth pursuing. If so, feel free to contact me.
