Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Statue of Limitations, California

I got charged with HS11377(A) way back in in 1989 and still have a warrant in California. I was wondering if there is a statue of limitations pertaining to this possession of a controlled substance from almost 20 years ago. I never went to court about this.

Warrants are forever. Get it cleared, or face arrest and handcuffed transportation to the court someday. The charge itself would have been easily dealt with in the beginning, now you have to also pay the piper for your contempt of the court; typically by fine and probation. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting legal help, if the case is in SoCal.

Re: Statue of Limitations, California

Sorry but there is no statute of limitations for warrants. They never expire.

Your best bet is to retain a lawyer here in California to resolve the entire situation, without your having to come here to deal with it in person at all, if possible.

Feel free to contact me if you want additional consultation.
