Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
statute of limitations
i was arrested for accessory after the fact the DA said he wasn't filing charges at this time.It has been 9 months.the person they said i gave a ride to starts his trail in feb.2007
does that mean the DA is going to wait until then to file on me or is there a time limit he has to file

Re: statute of limitations
Aside from the statute of limitations, every day that no charges are filed helps you argue, if you ever have to, that you were denied your right to a speedy trial. The fact that the other guy is going to trial without you helps as well. Cross your fingers and pray.
