Statute of Limitations - California
In California, what is the statute of limitations for charging someone with identity theft? A police report was filed early last september. Thank you.

For a civil suit, probably 2 years from incident. For criminal, longer. Such crimes are committed by scam artists, so a civil suit would probably be a waste of time and money, even if you find the person, since they wouldn't have anything to collect against, or would simply disappear.
