Statute of Limitations on Perjury in CA

I have a huge problem and can't talk to an attorney until Monday.

8 years ago someone helped me obtain a fake ID through the DMV.

Not a good move. I am a recovering alcoholic and I shared this information about 2 years ago with my AA sponsor. We got into an argument back in December and he called the DMV. They did an investigation and arrested me last Wednesday and released me on my OR. Charged with Perjury under Oath for an offense that was done 8 years ago. Felony. I have put my life on track and now own my own finance company. I understand the Statute of Limitations has run out on Perjury (4 Years) but was told that the DMV areas of this law are gray. Any advice?

You should immediately retain an attorney and not talk to the police any further, or any other party. A quick search indicates that the same for all applications.

Advice? Sure. Hire an attorney to defend you on the facts you stated. There is a reasonable chance the DA could be sympathetic to a properly made and supported argument that you should be given a break on this one. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing this right.
