Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Statutory Rape Charge/Consentual

My 30 year old boyfriend was charged with statutory rape by force with a minor (age 14). Sex was consentual until he discontinued the relationship whereas her mother filed a complaint. He is diagnosed schizophrenic and during this time he was not under the care of a physician or taking medications. It is set to go to trial next month but there are no witnesses to testify - his word against hers...

What are the options available to him? Is there anything that can be done on his behalf?

Re: Statutory Rape Charge/Consentual

He had better get a good attorney soon, or he is likely to spend a lot of time in jail. Her word counts more than his if that is all there is. Plus, he apparantly already acknowledged the conduct by claiming it was consentual. contact me if interested in discussing the case and costs of defense.
