There is no way to answer your question without reviewing all of the evidence. You didn't even mention if you are an adult or a juvenile.

You need a lawyer who will have access to all of the information in your case and can give you an informed answer. If you can't afford to hire a lawyer, ask the judge to appoint the public defender to represent you.

In the meantime, do not talk to ANYONE about your case except for your lawyer.

If you have already been charged with a crime and arrested, you will hire an attorney to try to negotiate a plea bargain, or take the case to trial, as appropriate.

If you have not been charged and arrested, your attorney may be able to negotiate a deal with the victim to accept restitution of the money in return for not prosecuting you.

If serious about hiring counsel to do these things, feel free to contact me. If you have no money, apply for the public defender. If you have no money, then you're going to have a real handicap making a offer of restitution.
