Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I went in to my storage 9pm i was should have been out by10pm i got to the gate about. 10.01pm l was locked in all night is that legal

There is nothing 'illegal' or even improper about them closing on scheduled time, unless your contract provides for 24/7 access.
Usually the entrances/exits open by keypad code or remote provided to tenants. That is to log who comes and goes. If access is locked down on schedule, there must be an 'emergency' phone number to call for such things.
