Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have been thinking about getting a firearm.But about 25 years ago I got into some trouble and i had a felony on my record.And i know that if you were a felon you can not own a firearm.Is that true.

You can check with the California Dept. of Justice to see if you are eligible or not. If not, maybe your criminal record needs a tune-up.

Convicted felons are prohibited from owning, using, possessing firearms or ammunition. You can confirm your status with DOJ and whether that applies to you by going to a gun store and asking them to do a 'pre-check' with DOJ. It will cost you a few dollars, but will set you straight on your status.
