Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Threats

A friend's soon to be ex-husband is threatening one of my siblings life. The wife of the man has confirmed the threats along with rumors from gang members in my area that he has taken out a contract. We have called the police on this issue twice and they state that there is nothing they can do until something actually happens and we all fear for our safety. What can we do?? Is there anything??

Re: Threats

Keep pressure on the police, and on the DA. An attorney contacting them on your behalf would help. Seeking a restraining order would be logical.

Re: Threats

You need to constantly follow up with the police and the prosecuting office. You should not just let things lie as they are. Your most logical bet is to file a restraining order against them.

Sincerely,
