Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

was told to write a check and sign

my girlfriend needed to get paid and her boss was out of the office. on many occasions, her boss told her on several occasions to write and sign a check. after her boss get levied by the irs she decided to claim she did not tell her to write these check and is threatening to file criminal charges against her. I may add her ex boss is an attorney. what can she do.

Best is to settle this dispute with her boss privately and out of court. Your friend is potentially vulnerable to fraudulent theft charges. I do not think she has a lot of leverage here. She should not have written that check.
