Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
What is the best way to turn myself in? I am on probation for a 273 misdemeanor child abuse. Later I was arrested for domestic violence against my husband, got out on bail, but failed to appear. I was a fugitive for 5 months. Now I want to come back and take care of these charges.

One of the best ways that my office has dealt with this type of situation is : First we (our law firm) attempts to get the warrant recalled without the appearance of our client. Many times, a judge will allow us to recall such a warrant on our own. If a judge wants to see the client, we prepare a package on our client, and give it ti the judge before we have the case heard, to try to get the judge to know you, before we actually make the appearance. Don't wait until you are picked up on the warrant. Get a lawyer NOW. I wish you the best.........David
You'd be well advised to hire counsel to help you in this, before you turn yourself in and get immediately taken into custody and held until transported to court. Counsel may be able to work a negotiated deal with the prosecutor for 'turn in at court and prompt release on bail / OR'.
If serious about doing this, feel free to contact me to discuss. I've been doing these cases for many years throughout SoCal.
Counsel may also be able to get you added to the calendar. If this happens you will be able to walk into the front door of the courtroom with your attorney and you may not go into custody at all.
