Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Have been turned down for employment due to accurate public record 12 years ago
Do I have rights under FRCA (Federal Reporting Consumer Act of 2001). I was recently denied employment at two different employers due to a public record that was used against me from 12 years ago. It was a misdemeanor charge of a check boucing. I just recieved a paper explaining my rights, and wanted to hear legal imput on my situation.

Your remedy is to seek expungement of the old misdemeanor conviction(s). You then can say 'no' to the question of convictions on employment applications. Feel free to contact me for help in getting these expunged.
