Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

unemployable Due to Felony

six years ago I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.I was let go from my job of 17 years back in 2002. since then I have been unable to obtain employment of any kind due to my ''criminal record'' I had the conviction expunged, which is useless, because the online court files show that I was charged w/possession of a controlled substance and not prosecuted can I have my court file sealed or request that my record be removed from the online court records so I can obtain employment its pretty scary knowing that I can no longer support myself. I own a home and my 80 year old Dad and my 19 year old sister who was killed a car accident on 11/30/05 have been paying my house payments. Please can anyone help me I have just about given up on life

I live in Los Angeles county Thank you

Re: unemployable Due to Felony

IF you actually got your conviction expunged, that means it shows as a dismissed charge, not a conviction. They can't bar your employment on that basis, and it doesn't have to be disclosed to employers on applications anyway, so the only way they could find out about it is you telling them.

If it wasn't expunged properly, it may still be possible to do so; contact me if you need to do so.

Yes, you could seek to have the file sealed, but that is not a guaranteed outcome process. But, if you are motivated to do so, contact me.
