Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was victim in a robbery four years ago were $50,000 in cash was stolen from me. I was beating unconscious and robbed for the money. I told the cops who the robber was and they made the arrest and now four years later he’s offering to give me back the money if I signed a paper saying that it wasn’t him and that I made a mistake my question is would I get in trouble if I sign that paper?

No ethical attorney is going to answer your question with specific 'legal' advice without you hiring him to research the case and proposed agreement terms to determine what risks and consequences are to you. To do otherwise would violate the 'rules' governing attorneys. You could consult and hire an experienced criminal defense attorney, like one of us here on this panel to represent you in this process. There appears to be significant money involved, so it should be worth it to you.
