Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

violation of personal rights and my husband accused of child molestation

I have run a Large Family Daycare for 10years with no complaints my niece for some reason is angry with us and called the Police and Social Services. I have been accused of possible violation of personal rights and my husband accused of child molestation 21 years ago. We are not sure exactly what we are supposed to have done. Social Services say they dont have to tell us. The police said we would know in about a week. This has been going on for about three months now and neither the social services nor the police will return our calls as to what is going on. We answered all their questions. Now the parents of the children in my care are telling me they have been called to setup appointments with social services so they can talk to them and their children. Social Services showed up at my sisters house to talk to her, she told them my niece had been molested as a child and that person had gone to prison. Since then she has accused and reported several people of molesting her. We think we need legal representation but have no idea where to begin.

Yes, you need counsel immediately if not sooner, and that counsel must be a sophisticated attorney with experience in this class of accusations.

Your local criminal defense bar association should have a referral service, this is always a good place to start.

Begin by immediately hiring an attorney to represent you and your business. Your husband faces serious felony charges if the police believe the person, and the business could be closed. Your attorney needs to be dealing with the police and DA from the beginning, to try to stop this freight train bearing down on you. Feel free to contact me if you are in SoCal.
