Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

i wa driving my girlfriends moms car and i hit a car coming around the corrner and it was parked i got scared to death so i left the scen so my question is what happens with a hit and run

Criminal charges will be filed against you once the police determine you were driving, if you don't remedy this situation. You can go back and pay for the damage, or turn it over to your or her insurance company to do so, to make the situation less likely to result in you being arrested.

If you cause only property damage it is a misdemeanor. If you caused personal injury, it can be treated as a felony. It is not clear that the car was occupied, or was moving from the language that you use.
