Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Im walking (ok staggering) down the street and am arrested for public intoxacation. fair and square. but...on the way to the jail with me cuffed in the back seat the police offericer decides to make a traffic stop. is this legal?

Of course.

Why would you think it isn't?

Now if you had somehow been physically injured as a result of some problem that arose in the other 'stop', you might have something to complain about.
