Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have a warrant out for corporal injury and bail is set at $5000. Me and my fianc got into an argument in the car that got physical and our daughter was in the back seat. Afterwards my fianc went to the hospital and she had a concussion the officer who interviewed her told her she should get a restraining order and custody of my daughter but she didn't want to press charges or anything so the officer referred our case to Cps who came to our house twice and said we had our act together and and so she closed the case. It was a one time incident. I have no record nor have I ever been arrested. Me and my family are now and have been living together and we've gotten along fine. I was wondering what am I looking at?

the best way to deal with it is to have an attorney recall the warrant and handle the case. Talk to some local criminal defense attorneys about the facts, many of them give free consultations. Good luck!
What are you looking at??
Defending criminal charges that carry jail or prison time.
To handle a warrant, you must turn yourself in to the issuing court, with or without an attorney. Youll try to negotiate a recall of the warrant[s]. Youll try to negotiate bail reduction or OR release. Youll try to negotiate a plea bargain or take to trial the charge[s] that caused the warrant. Unless you're competent to effectively represent yourself in court against a professional prosecutor trying to put you in jail, most people hire an attorney who can.
