Re: warrant issued why
Theft is a crime regardless of the victim's immigration status. Punishing you for this serious crime is a higher priority than deporting the victim, which may be why he is still here. After all, if reporting a crime led to deportation, illegal aliens would constantly be victimized by people (like you, apparently) who expect them to keep their mouths shut. The interests of justice are better served by punishing the victimizer rather than the victim.
Re: warrant issued why
Unfortunately for you, whether or not the person reporting a crime is in this country legally or illegally, is irrelevant. He/she might be eventually deported but that will have nothing to do with the warrant or the outcome of your case.
The best thing you can do is to come forward and voluntary surrender to the police or the court. It would be best for you to retain a lawyer to negotiate the terms of your voluntary surrender, including a very important issue of your bail, rather than wait until the law enforcement catches up with you and arrests you. Running away will only make your situation and your ability to defend your case worse, no doubt.

Re: warrant issued why
I agree with the others that the immigration status of the witness will not make the warrant go away. However, his illegal status may prove helpful down the road, assuming your case is in the hands of a decent criminal defense lawyer.
The more important issue for you is to get a good lawyer in on the case right away. The lawyer can find out if the evidence against you rest entirely in the credibility of this person or not.
Re: warrant issued why
Why? Who knows? Who cares? You have to defend the criminal charges regardless of what they do with someone else. If you have evidence or provable defenses, you'll use them in appropriate motions or trial. If you're serious about getting counsel and doing so, feel free to contact me.
