Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Regarding warrants

I've been trying to obtain employment and was wondering if my having a warrant henders me from obtainin employment. Also I need to get a new ID would I have a problem at the DMV(with this warrant)?

Re: Regarding warrants

Duh. Sorry for the sarcasm, but of course you're going to have a 'problem' at DMV, called: arrest and taken into custody for transport to the court issuing the warrant.

Of course you'll have employability problems; most companies do criminal background checks. If you admit to the warrant, nobody will hire you. If you lie and deny, they'll find it out and fire you for lying on the application.

It's time you began behaving responsibly and take care of the problems you've caused yourself. You'll have to turn yourself into the court issuing the warrant and try to convince them not to jail you on the warrant. You'll have to deal with the criminal charges that you 'skipped out' on. Unless you know how to practice law and effectively defend yourself in court, hire an attorney. If the case is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me if serious about doing this right.

Re: Regarding warrants

Life as a fugitive isn't much fun, is it? The answer to your question depends on what it is you're wanted for. Failure to appear for your traffic case probably won't affect your ability to get an ID from DMV. If you're wanted for a felony, all bets are off.

Re: Regarding warrants

You also have to consider whether you should just deal with the underlying problem causing you to have a warrant.
