warrents

my boyfriend was arrested 6years ago for being under a controled substance they let him out but he did not show up for the court date which became a felony charge he moved out o fthatcounty started a new life in riverside but did not take care of those charges held a job for three years and started a family was pulled over because we were moving into a new house. cop pulled him over found out he had warrents arrested have him in riverside jail what are the chances of him getting out so we can fix this or will they ship him off to the county eight hours there and back just to drive?or will he have to spend years in jail this is all in california

"Get him out", "fix"? Sure.

He has to go to the courts issuing the warrants, and deal with and defend the charges properly now, like he should have at the time. He also faces penalties for the warrant. If that means he will be transported in cuffs to another county to face the charges, so be it. That is up to the other county. They may let him bail out here, on bail high enough to ensure he goes to court when and where he is supposed to. I suggest you save your money for attorneys, rather than pay non refundable bail to a bondsman. Get an attorney local to the original charging court, or apply for the public defender.
