Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

What will my criminal record say?

hi, i was recently arrested and found guilty for petty theft. I was just wondering what exactly is put on my criminal record? does it just say 'petty theft'? does it have the city and location where the crime was committed? i just wanted to know what kind of information an employer would have access to when they look at a criminal record. and also can you tell me how i can view my criminal record? thanks in advance for your time

Whatever the code section you were convicted of is on your record. Any employer able to do a thorough background check will see the conviction. If you want to seek 'expungement' of the conviction [having it show as dismissed charges without conviction], you can do so after satisfactorily serving and completing all terms of probation. Contact me if interested in discussing the facts and proceedure.
