i recently discovered that my boss went onto my pc and copied my music without asking me. is this a crime?

No, but you using the company computer for your 'pleasure' could get you fired; one basis being your misuse of your time and company resources; another basis is the risk of the company getting sued for music piracy. You have no right of privacy on it. Making matters more interesting, is that if he was copying for his own use and 'pleasure', he too is misusing resources.

Probably not a crime if the computer belonged to him. That said, there might be some kind of civil cause of action for harassment or violation of employee privacy. I would check with a plaintiff's labor and employment lawyer.
