Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I worked for a contractor for the past five years and he has verbally told me to sign any of his business check when he was not around. I told him that I should be on the signature card and he reply back that he would back me up if had was called from the bank. I also was paying myself my wages which he verbally authorized and now is going after me for the past five years that he did not approve of all my wages that I wrote myself checks to. What do i do!

Unfortunately the check signing is considered a forgery even though he has apparently approved. Of it.the question becomes why is he now claiming this.I would have to know more
Assuming this has been going on for some time now his bank statements would show a set pattern for your checks is he claiming ignorance of all these payments ? Call me so we can discuss in further detail
If he is denying you had authority to do so, you potentially face criminal and civil embezzlement or forgery charges. Take this seriously and hire an attorney immediately. He will use whatever evidence you have available to rebut and defend.
