In theory it is an ideal system to ensure that justice is served. Unfortunately it is a system created and maintained by people. And we all know that any system with a human element is subject to flaws, inconsistencies, and breakdowns. The justice system would obviously be better off if it was immune to politics. The justice system would be better served if more ethical and professionally responsible "servants" stepped up to the plate being committed to ideals instead of committed to making money. Bottom line... it's not a perfect justice system but it is far better than any other option out there.
