Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Age Discrimination.

In 1996 I was terminated from a company I had been with for several years. I was 65 and had recently been recuperating from a heart valve replacement. At termination I signed a document to not sue and received a few months salary and insurance coverage. Question1: Can I file a suit based on age or health? Question2: Is there a statute of limitation on filing?

Re: Age Discrimination.

Sorry, it sounds like you are time barred from bringing a claim.

Re: Age Discrimination.

Unfortunately, you had one-year to file a complaint with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing or the EEOC. Your suit - now 11 years old - appears to be time-barred.

Re: Age Discrimination.

You waited 11 years, and now ask if there is a statute of limitations? Of course there is, on every legal claim; yours was one year.
