Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California
My christian virtues would not fly at that co.
working in this office where only me and my mnger worked togther the owner never assisted in the off. Im Christian and my husband would call my cell on break we'd read scriptures & a quick prayer & return to my desk after.I was always told what a great job I did.The mnger always expressed to me day in & day out offensive words I told her I didn't appreciate anything said & would tell the owner It cont.I finally told the owner and he said ok. Don't worry I'll take care of it waited a week later & the offensive words did'nt stop Finally she called me over told me after a long conversation that my Chrsitian virtues wouyld not fly there? I said what do you mean that I can't work here anymore? She said no you just need to stop with all your Christian Bull Shitt,I mean you do a great job! But your christian virtues won't continue to fly here But I did'nt return.Is there anything I can do about this?

quite possibly. if you can email me directly with why you "feared" or felt you would be terminated if you went back to your job after your supervisor's repimand of you and your beliefs, i may be able to further assist you in this matter and show a constructive wrongful termination premised on speech and religious discrimination.

unfortunately, if you are in a company with less than 5 people, the discrimination law does not apply. If there are more than 5, then you could file a charge of discrimination and follow up with a lawsuit if you have evidence to back up your allegations. Contact me to discuss if those criteria apply.
