Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Layoff and sexist remarks

Hi, I have been with a company for four years and have continually had my boss make comments about ''stupid blondes'' and ''don't eat that! No fatties in this office!''

Today i was laid off and I know it's because he is aware that I do not appreciate his comments and this made for a very uncomfortable work environment. Is there anything I can do about this?

If you think you can prove what you say about the conduct and layoff, you may have a valid case for sex discrimination and harrassment. Feel free to contact me to discuss your rights and remedies. I've been doing these cases for over 20 years.

You possibly could have a case as long as you can prove your allegations.

Re: Layoff and sexist remarks

Possibly.

There are two different areas involved. One is sexual harassment, and the other involves your termination.

You need to shop around and find an attorney who is a specialist in these areas.

Call your local unemployment office and file against the company, as well as complaining to EDD.

Good luck!
