Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California
Organization
I am a dues paying (woman) member of an organization that use to be all men. They continue to have yearly STAG parties (and I'm told NO women can attend). At their last party, they have now paid women (non members) to be there to ''sell raffle tickets'' and whatever else. They are saying this is OK because they are considered employees. Can they exclude female members from any event? Is any of this illegal?

Re: Organization
It is highly unlikely any organization can legally exclude women, unless a small private club or possibly some specific event that is men only. I'd be happy to discuss your facts, rights and remedies, contact me if interested in pursuing this.
Re: Organization
It is not clear from your question if this organization is employment related. If so, the exclusion of women is mostly likely illegal, as gender discrimination.
However, if this is a private club, the courts have allowed gender exlusion under certain circumstances. Not enough information is provided to enable me to give a more detailed response.
