Whether he was, or was not an attorney, it sounds like you've been defrauded. File a police report and a report with the State Bar of California. One or both may be willing to investigate and try to bring charges against him.

IF you have a valid discrimination, or other, case as indicated in your heading, and there is still time to take action on it, feel free to contact me to see what can be done to help you.

If that person represented that he was an attorney and you paid money, you can report him to police and/or the district attorney for prosecution.

In the meantime, hire an attorney and check his/her name on the State Bar website to make sure that the person holds the appropriate license.
