Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California
i have been going through racial harassment for 18 months by 18 of my former employees including my supervisors and my managers who have gone as far as to call me a CENSORED and other harsh terms i have put up with it because i couldnt find another job and have constantly asked them to stop and even quit twice before but was rehired by the owners with promise of change which never came i am tired of it and depressed so my question is what do i do next should i start a lawsuit if so how do i find a lawyer

I am sorry that you've had to endure this harassment. This conduct is unacceptable in the workplace or anywhere else, and you shouldn't have to put up with it. Preliminarily, an employee would file a complaint of discrimination and harassment with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, done properly with the assistance of an attorney. The DFEH could either investigate, or simply issue a "right-to-sue" letter, in which case the attorney has a little under one year to file a lawsuit. This is outrageous conduct. This is racial discrimination, work place harassment and a hostile work environment. There is a one year statute of limitations though. You need to file withthe DFEH as the other attorney indicated. You can obtain the Notice of Claim and Questionnaire forms on the State of CA website ASAP. After they investigate a Right to Sue letter will be issued. You cannot sue your employer without it. However, you also need to make sure to try and resolve this informally with your superiors.
