dui in california live in hawaii

hi i am 20 years old and i got pulled over and blew a .06 in Napa California but i have a Hawaii drivers licence. the police had to look up my old california drivers licence but never took my licence on the spot. they then sent me a letter saying send my licence in to them (california) but i am in hawaii now. and the licence number on the letter is my old california drivers licence. should i say i do not have that licence anymore? Should i send in my drivers licence? can i drive in hawaii? thank you for your time

Hawaii and California are two different states. When you get your "license" suspended in California, it revokes your right to drive IN California, not in Hawaii, although your ability to renew your license may indeed be a problem. The problem is that you may not have a DUI and you need someone to represent you in attempting to reverse this situation. This is something my office deals with all the time. Your driving privileges are suspended in California and a warrant for your arrest has been issued. You will not be able to travel out of state, renew your Hawaii license, and, are at risk for arrest if pulled over in Hawaii until you appear or have an attorney appear on your behalf and complete the requirements that will be imposed for your violation.
