If I have paid a lawyer and decide to change in the process can I do that?

Re: DUI Case
You can change lawyers, assuming its not too late in the process and the case is not too close to trial. You will need to find another attorney to substitute in for you. The attorney you want to fire will be entitled to get paid for the time he has put into the matter. I wish you the best. David Wallin

Re: DUI Case
Yes, but you'll have to resolve with him whether you get money back. If you can't, you can ask for the local county Bar Association to assist you in a 'fee dispute'. If you are in SoCal courts, and if you're interested in getting new counsel, feel free to contact me.
