Legal Question in DUI Law in California

dui, failure to appear ?

back in 2006 I was arrested for DUI (no accident or anything) just pulled over. Note: this was in Alameda county and I live is southern california. I hired an attorney up there to handle it. lost the dmv court and did my classes, sr 22 and got my dl back. and was getting regular updates in 07 but then I never heard anymore about it and just put to back of my mind. I purchased a home and ran across the paperwork Now I am wondering if I can see if it ever got cleared up or if I screwed up big time. I can't find my attorney info for back then and wonder if this is something I can get cleared up without having to travel back up there. I don't have huge funds to hire someone but probably 2-3k? is that enough? how do if find out if I have a failure to appear or whatever?

You are doing the right thing by beginning to ask questions. My office handles these matters regularly. If you want to discuss this further, please call at your earliest convenience. I handle cases throughout California, and am very familiar with the Alameda courts.

Call the criminal clerk in that court and ask to check your records. If there are problems, then hire a new local attorney, for less that you suggested I would guess.
