Legal Question in DUI Law in California

DUI Warrant

I was convicted of DUI in December of 06, I completed all but one of my DUI classes, the final class I wasnt allowed to appear due to not having finished the 8 AA meetings. Due to financial strain of my work, I never went back to court. I have been issued a warrant for this, and am wondering if I am facing jail time when I do return to court.

Re: DUI Warrant

You are in violation of your probation and could be sentenced to jail time but the real question is whether this is likely to happen. It depends on how the Courts in that jurisdiction treat a failure to complete the DUI program and/or a failure to appear. Contact a public defender or a private criminal law attorney in the area where you were convicted immediately. They will be able to get you back before the Judge and should also be able to help you resolve the matter with little or no jail time.

Re: DUI Warrant

Potentially, yes. But, if handled properly by your attorney, it may be possible to get out of this with only further fines and probation, plus of course, you have to do everything originally agreed upon. You'll have to redo the DUI classes and AA meetings. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting legal help.
