Legal Question in DUI Law in California

can i expunge an old dui conviction from my record

I have a dui conviction on my record from almost ten years ago. Although I wrecked my car (mildly), no other cars were involved in the accident. It was a misdemeanor conviction. Because the accident occurred so long ago -- and besides that I have a clean record -- can I have the conviction expunged from my record? Is there a statute of limitations on this sort of thing? Does this DUI show up on my public records or back ground checks? Lastly, do I have to disclose this arrest on job applications, etc? Is it still relevant?

Yes, it is on your record, yes you have to disclose the conviction if asked [or commit perjury and/or employment fraud that will get you fired when they find out]. DUI is difficult to get expunged, but contact me if you want to discuss the facts and costs of doing so.
