Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Illegal Left Turn - pretense for DUI stop

I was stopped by SLC PD for an illegal left turn. I was leaving the parking lot of a hotel bar, onto a street with RR/Streetcar tracks down the center of two lanes. There were no prohibitive signs, barriers, or other warning devices present. The street was a constant flat grade throughout from curb to curb, with tracks recessed into the pavement. I was subsequently arrested for DUI. I find no law making my turn illegal. Was it illegal, and if not, is my breath test, etc. admissable?

Re: Illegal Left Turn - pretense for DUI stop

You can try making the claims through appropriate motions. You can force the case to trial, refusing a deal. It's up to you whether it's worth the expense of doing each of these things. Sure, if you feel strongly enough about it on principle. Feel free to contact me for the legal help you'll need in dealing with that, or the negotiations on a deal if you choose to minimize your legal costs.
