Legal Question in DUI Law in California

missed court date & medical marijuana

I was working in AZ. & missed my court date for DUI in CA. I have a license for med. marijuana & was stopped by border patrol on my way back, ticketed & told to come to court in AZ. in Aug.(I had 1 oz. for personal, medical use that AZ. doesn't honor). What is likely to happen to me in both CA. & AZ.? I will be in jail in CA. in Aug. for DUI (if i turn myself in) with no way to get to AZ., as my license was suspended. Can I serve AZ. time in CA. (even though It's legal for me to have it in CA.? I would appreciate ANY help with this

Get an AZ attorney for your drug case, most areas are less 'liberal' than CA, you face jail time if not handled well.

The CA DUI and FTA [failure to appear] also must be handled quickly and well to avoid extended jail time. If your attorney gets you to court voluntarily before you get caught again and taken to court in cuffs, he should be able to get you only a fine for the FTA. The DUI has penalties that he will be trying to get minimized for you, maybe with only a couple days in jail, but with stiff fines and fees.

Each state will exact its own penalties and their jail time is not interchangeable, that's simply not how the system works.

Contact me if interested in getting the DUI handled, if it is in SoCal area.
