Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Public defendant for DUI case

I was charged with a DUI by CHP, with a BAC of .09. I chose to go with a public defendant b/c everyone reccomended it seeing that the circumstances were in my favor. I have now had 3 different defendants on my case, and they all seem very imcompetent. The one I have currently is on vacation and gets back right before my trial, and I have not even talked to him. The previous attorney just gave me an update on when my case was, and then just dropped me off with the current attorney, which I havent been able to contact. This one never responded to my messages, and we were supposed to prep a witness because she is testifying. But no word from him. Is this fair? Who can I complain to? IS it too late to get a lawyer when my court date is next monday?

Too late? NO! However, due to the last minute nature of your request most attorney will surcharge your about 50% for your trial in my experience. However if you do not feel comfortable with the current attorney, you should think about private counsel.

Too late? No, all it takes is money for the attorney fees charged by private counsel. You'll also have to hope the court will allow the trial to be continued because of getting new counsel. If it doesn't, the attorney will have to put on the trial 'cold'. Contact me if serious about doing so.
