Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Retract plea

I accepted a plea to a lesser misdemeanor charge rather than risk trial for a DUI. I pleaded no contest. Can I retract my plea and risk trial again?

And

Can I expunge my arrest record and my agreement to plead ''no contest'' after some time? If so, what would show up on my record after that is done.

Re: Retract plea

No, and Yes. Your plea ended the case. However, once you serve all terms of probation, normally plus another year, you can seek expungement that will allow you to answer 'no' to convictions on employment applications. It means having the conviction set aside and charges dismissed on your record. Contact me to discuss once probation is over.
