Add a new charge of failure to appear, which is a misdemeanor, and issue bench warrant. After 4-6 weeks sheriff will come get you. You can have an attorney appear for you so you do not have to go....
Assuming the DA has filed charges by your court date, the judge will issue a warrant for your arrest for failing to appear. The DA may or may not add the failure to appear charge, but it increases the likelihood that you'll have to post bail and/or have conditions on your continued release.
Keep in mind you only have 10 days from your arrest to contact the DMV and schedule a hearing or they will automatically suspend your license.
Not showing will only make the situation worse.
If it's a scheduling issue, an attorney may be able to appear on your behalf, but it depends on the prior.
Real simple: issue a warrant and file new criminal charges of 'failure to appear'.
Instead, if serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me.
