Legal Question in Elder Law in California
My biological father is ill and he has a step daughter (not by law) , the question is who is legal responsible for him?
I just meet him 2 yrs ago and I'm 43

Nobody is 'responsible' for him legally.. Morally is an entirely different question, up to you all to ponder and resolve. His current spouse, if any, through the community property rules in CA., or ultimately his estate if he has no spouse, will end up paying for his care, so whoever is going to inherit is going to end up being 'responsible'.
